UK Skills Deficit II

It seems that I hit on a theme that resonated with many last week. Thank you for all the comments and responses on the topic of the UK skills deficit. Good luck to those organisations who are proactively attempting to manage it.

Last week, my assignment to get relationship and conflict management strategies higher on the governments and boards agenda, received a huge boost.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how just yet. I know – really annoying. Watch this space though. You may have also noticed that the theme of employee engagement is building a higher profile. The CIPD have thrown down the gauntlet to the HR community.  Mike Emmott from the CIPD has written an excellent article on the theme.

By the way, is your organisation designing people around the organisation or the organisation around people? Baffled? I’ll explain more next week.
