The Royal Mail dispute

Last week was busy for me. Most of Wednesday and Thursday was spent in dialogue with the BBC and other media organisations discussing the Royal Mail dispute.

I was invited to give a live interview about the role of mediation in disputes on the BBC Wake up to Money Programme at 5.30am on Thursday. I stayed at a Hotel in Victoria the evening before and was tucked up in bed by 10.30pm to get a good night of sleep before being picked up at 4.45am. Unfortunately, the fire alarm woke me up at 11.15pm. All guests had to evacuate. There was a small fire in the kitchen. I didn’t get back to bed until 1.00am!

At last though, mediation is receiving some national profile. This is great news.

I was also interviewed separately by a BBC Business Reporter along similar lines.

A good summary about mediation is now on the BBC website.

You will have noticed my theme on coaching for the last few weeks. Although we have a national panel of coaches I am also coaching a number of people myself. If you, or someone you know, would have an interest in being coached by me, I have 3 places left before I won’t be able coach any additional people.

There are just under 9 weeks until the end of 2009. I know, astonishing isn’t it? Has this year has been a bit of a blur? Will you find it difficult to articulate personal progress throughout 2009? Do you have ongoing thoughts about whether you are in the right job? Would like to start achieving against your own personal development plan? Would you like to get off to a good start in 2010? Just drop me a line or give me a call if you want to have a chat about being coached.
