How to Win Through Equality and Diversity
This course is recognised by the ILM as a development programme.
Context
The Equality Act that came into law in October 2010 has had significant implications for UK businesses. The Act has been designed to ensure that everybody is adequately protected against discrimination and emphasises a socio-economic duty to reduce inequality. It has consolidated existing legislation on sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief and age. If not followed properly, it could result in significant costs for organisations. Workplaces in the UK are becoming increasingly diverse. For every company engaged with challenging markets at home and abroad, diversity needs to be positioned at the strategic heart of the business, as a core component in the drive towards greater competitiveness and profitability.
