Advanced Practitioner in Mediation Skills
Context
With the 2011 government consultation into resolving workplce disputes putting mediation firmly on the agenda, there has never been a better time to improve your skills as an employment and workplace mediator. If you have already trained as a mediator and would like an opportunity to sharpen and expand your mediation skills and understanding, then this course is for you. With mediation on the coalition government’s agenda, awareness of the benefits of mediation is spreading and demand for mediation skills is escalating. This course will enhance your mediation dexterity and increase your confidence of handling complex disputes. Delegates of this course will leave more confident and better equipped to successfully handle the most challenging of mediation situations.
Aim of the course
This course will:
• Help you to deepen your knowledge of how mediation can help parties move from dispute to resolution
• Allow you to practise mediating confidential complex cases utilising case studies based on real life situations
• Increase your knowledge of the true costs of conflict
• Prompt you to consider how your mediation style can be adjusted based on the type of individuals involved in the dispute and heighten your understanding of the needs of parties
• Build on your existing and practised mediation skills, whilst challenging you to move out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself
There are a number of complex case studies that delegates are challenged with over the 2 days, and you will be given one on one tutor support.
This course is particularly useful if you are considering mediation as a career option, are seeking to enhance your mediation practice, want to be better positioned to help organisations understand the big picture, or simply want to become a better mediator.
