National certificate in workplace mediation skills (accredited) 5 Days

The workplace mediation skills training course is our principal programme and runs in two units over 5 days as two blocks of 3 and 2 days and provides delegates with the skills they need to become an accredited workplace mediator. The course takes an in-depth look at the concept of mediation, its background and its likely future as an alternative dispute resolution tool within the workplace. Delegates will learn both the theory and practice of workplace mediation. Delegates can register to do both units together or separately. Both units must be fully completed to receive full accreditation.

Listen: Listening within another person's frame of reference to fully understand the issues that have led to the dispute
Ask: Ask appropriate and relevant questions to help clarify your understanding of the background to the dispute
Explore: Explore options for resolution to help the parties focus on the future rather than the past
Test: Test and reality check any potential solutions have been thought through and are workable for the parties.
Resolve: Resolve the dispute by summarising the parties' positions and bringing the mediation to an appropriate close.
