Employment Law and Mediation Update
2010 saw many changes to the Employment Laws governing UK business. With a continual increase in legislation, companies not on top of their obligations are in danger of becoming non-compliant, which could result in significant and costly repercussions. This session will bring you up to date and will cover
the latest Employment Law developments including the Government's plan to introduce an 'employment charter'.
2011 will also see continued increase in the use of mediation. This session will cover the recent developments within mediation and provide an outline of what to expect in the world of mediation in 2011. It will also cover mediation advocacy.

Sean Nesbitt
Sean is Head of Taylor Wessing's Employment and Pensions group and supervises its immigration work. He deals with all aspects of employment work, including executive employment and termination, commercial transactions and business transfers, often with an international element. He is recognised by Legal 500, Chambers and New City Media as an expert in the employment field and has written the chapter on Transfers of Undertakings in Sweet & Maxwell's Encyclopaedia of Employment Law.
Clive Lewis OBE
Clive is the director of Globis Mediation Group. A former HR director, he has worked in both the public and private sectors. Having mediated hundreds of disputes, he is regarded as one of the UK's thought leaders on the topic of mediation in the workplace. Many high profile disputes are referred to him for mediation. Clive represents Globis on the Board of the Civil Mediation Council. He is also the author of two books on mediation in the workplace.
